The Updrafts Reading series presents new works-in-progress by emerging playwrights. Presented by Playwrights Theatre Centre.

Liesl Lafferty- Director

As a playwright, dramaturg and director, Liesl has largely focused on harvesting, sculpting and presenting new Canadian works. She received the Larry Lillo – Jessie Richardson Award for Outstanding Direction of a Play for House, by Daniel MacIvor, and directed and co-wrote A Town Called Hockey at the Arts Club Theatre. Currently, Liesl is a Facilitator for Wet Ink Collective a community of professional theatre women developing new plays, and she is pursuing an MFA in Creative Writing and Theatre at UBC.
